Okay Publix Where Are OUR RAINCHECKS?

Publix built one store in  Cosners Corner I was so happy even though I had to travel 40 minutes to get there. Then they built one in Stafford at Embrey Mill a bit closer, only 30 min to this one.

My family thinks I am crazy for driving so far and they also feel prices are much more pricey at Publix then the other local grocery stores.  But I am a loyal fan.

I have been going to the new Stafford store, since that is only 30 min from me.

Sadly I am frequently disappointed in the quality and availability of products. Since I have to drive  over a half hour to Stafford and 40 min plus to Cosners Corner with my list. Admittedly, I can be a bit grumpy when they are out of stock. Or two days after I get home my produce is moldy( that was Stafford.) Produce at Cosners corner seems fresher and colder.

The employees are very kind and very helpful at both Publix's when I visit.

However when COVID started Pub;ix discontinued RAIN CHECKS which I kind of understood then.

But they have not brought them back yet. WHY????

I feel they are not appreciating the loyalty of their customers during this difficult time. Profits appears more important then loyalty and in FL they have a captive market.

Today I drove to Stafford and one employee said "come back on Tuesday" for the sale item they didnt have in stock.   I was livid, I exclaimed "come back Tuesday????
Not when I have to drive a half hour on back country roads to get to this store!".

A rain check would have let me come back the next time I was in the area. I am a senior 74 YO and not use to curvy hilly roads. But I love Publix and am willing to make the effort.

How come they are not willing to make the effort to accommodate us?

Other stores give Rain Checks.

I thought Publix was suppose to be a Christian organization.
It appears greed has replaced generosity and caring about the customer.

Well I am not sure anyone else agrees with me but I appreciate you listening to my rant!

Walmart (Shopping for Ezekial Muffins)

I like Walmart for shelf goods but I hesitate on some perishables. I guess I don't quite trust that the products get put away in a timely manner.

However I am visiting my family in VA and finding it hard to get my Ezekiel muffins. I decided, since it was frozen bread I could get it from Walmart.
I located it in the case and this is a picture of what I found!

There were four more on the shelf, three with pieces of ice inside the package. One at the back seemed normal and I bought that one. I began to wonder what is happening. Why wouldn't an employee see it, how did this happen. All kinds of scenarios played through my mind.

I had also looked for cream cheese my low fat Philadelphia one, none to be found. The kind young man who worked there said November 7 it should be back in stock.

IT SCARY WHAT SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING IN THE STORES.

Is it lack of employees? A snowball effect? literally :-))

I was talking with another woman shopper in Walmart, wondering if she was thinking the same as me. She said as long as people don't panic we will be okay! I couldn't agree more. I think people get scared and then they get greedy and start hoarding food or other products which creates more hoarding type buying.

If we can all have respect for each other I think we can get through any situation that comes along.

But it requires each of us to be fair and kind to one another.  I know, easy to say, its tough when we are afraid we will be hungry or cant get our favorite foods.

I wonder, if I knew I couldn't get my muffins, would I have bought the one with the ice on it?

We need to ask ourselves the tough questions?

If our answers don't consider another persons needs then maybe we want to rethink our thinking?

Louise Hay always said
"when you take from life,  life will take from you; and when you give to life, life will give to you."

I try to practice that in my life each day. Some days I do good and sometimes the self centered child in me takes over and I am not  kind and courteous to other souls on this tough road.

But each day is a new opportunity to consider another person. That's the best I can do each day.

What will you do today that will make a difference in someones life?

Share it on the blog!
Have a kindhearted day!
