Crumbles Full of Bio Engineered Ingredients

My wonderful son brought me flowers and Crumbles for Mothers day. One was cheesecake, one chocolate chip, one red velvet, and all chocolate. I loved crumbles.

I cut them up into quarters, wrapped them up and froze them so I could eat a quarter at a time.

Lately I have been checking if what I am eating contains bio engineered ingredients.

Sadly I found out this company is an extreme offender. I am including a link to the article on crumbles.

https://foodbabe.com/the-alarming-ingredients-in-crumbl-cookies-dont-eat-until-you-read-this/

And another article below explaining about bio engineered products and how to find out if they are in products and the new laws that people are trying to get passed and the govt who is fighting us from knowing.

Also found a very Informative Article on the Consequences of eating bio engineered products. Including birth defects for pregnant women. It has links in the article to more information.

I had a difficult time finding information for 2024 but will continue to search and update this article.

Please if you believe this is happening pass the info on to others.

We need to educate our family, friends and neighbors.

We wonder why their are so many health issues and cancer in adults and children.

Here is an answer, if you choose to believe the information and research it for yourself.

Consumer Reports /Pesticides and Organics

This is a link to a report  put out by the Guardian News.  I found this report enlightening and also there are links to click on throughout the article.

My granddaughter is pregnant and I want to send it to her. It talks about some other items and the dangers pregnant woman can experience. Do I send it to her? Do I mind my own business?

I would love to hear other grandmothers thoughts.

Be Careful With Apps

I was on line today and somehow came across this daily affirmations app. One of the comments mentioned a free version. I downloaded it from the Apple store and as I was going to install, it told me I will be charged after x amount of days and it would charge me for a year!  WTF?  I hate being scammed why wouldn’t they post the price on the page with the app?

The app really sounded good, but I felt manipulated. I immediately cancelled and deleted it and checked my account to make sure I wasn’t billed. It is called  I AM Daily Affirmations.

It appears to have positive reviews but it was expensive for me because they bill for the year. I deleted it so quickly, when it told me the cost, I didn’t write down the details. I could be wrong but I think it was over  $10 a month.

The free version appears to be only a trial!

Just wanted to share my experience. Buyer beware even when you think it’s FREE.

updated Publix "Greenwise" only ONE ingredient has to be organic Read the ingredients!!!

UPDATE: I was in Publix the other day 5/3/24 and I mentioned to the  manager that the organic items are not 100%. He pointed to a price tag on the top shelf which stated that the item wasn't 100% ORGANIC. He told me to look at the price tag to find out what % is organic.
Thank you Publix for hearing us and letting us know which Greenwise products are NOT 100% Organic.

Original Blog

Quote below is From: https://www.publix.com/products-services/greenwise

"GreenWise stands for goodness.

We all believe in good, whether that’s how you eat, how you feel, or how you want to feel.  That’s why all GreenWise products meet ONE or more   of these strict requirements:

  • USDA Organic
  • Made with at least 70% organic ingredients
  • Made without the specific preservatives, flavors, and colors listed at publix.com/the list; products may contain colors from natural sources.
  • Raised without antibiotics or added hormones;* all GreenWise meats are fed a 100% vegetarian diet
  • Nonfood products that make an environmental claim on the package
  •  FROM:   https://www.publix.com/products-services/greenwise"

I picked up a package of the Ravolis the other day and since it said Greenwise I mistakenly assumed it was organic. Then I read the package!

Ingredients

pasta (durum wheat flour, eggs, water), filling (ricotta [whey, milk, cream, vinegar], spinach, bread crumbs [wheat flour, yeast, salt], whey, romano cheese made from cow's milk [pasteurized cultured milk, salt, enzymes], chicory root fiber, organic sunflower oil, water, mozzarella cheese [pasteurized cultured milk, salt, enzymes], 2% or less of: potato starch, dehydrated potatoes, Parmesan cheese [pasteurized milk, cultures, salt, enzymes], salt, garlic).

The key here is  "GreenWise products meet ONE or more  of these strict requirements:" (see the list above)

This is not even GMO free!!!! . The only Organic ingredient is the Sunflower oil, however it meets Publix's listed criteria that ONE item is organic.

I want to say, shame on you Publix!!

To me this is about misleading your customers, by wording things in a way to infer your benefiting the consumer, since some of the green wise ingredients may be organic.

I feel so very disappointed by your lack of integrity. You use to be a store that was proud of what it offered, balancing fair pricing and quality products.

I know you are not alone during this difficult time. However you have always stood out among the others offering, honesty, integrity, and quality products at fair prices.

It appears to me you have hopped on the GREED DRIVEN BANDWAGON. You have lost customers respect and there is even groups online asking people not to shop at your stores.

I hope the new blood and new ideas you think are so great, are not your demise.  It's only so long you can fool the public with an image that your father created and sadly seems to be fast sliding into the abyss.

People are paying attention, now if only you could get back to the wonderful customer service you have been known for in the 40 loyal years I have been shopping at your stores.  I think you have a chance of earning peoples respect back.

Okay Publix Where Are OUR RAINCHECKS?

Publix built one store in  Cosners Corner I was so happy even though I had to travel 40 minutes to get there. Then they built one in Stafford at Embrey Mill a bit closer, only 30 min to this one.

My family thinks I am crazy for driving so far and they also feel prices are much more pricey at Publix then the other local grocery stores.  But I am a loyal fan.

I have been going to the new Stafford store, since that is only 30 min from me.

Sadly I am frequently disappointed in the quality and availability of products. Since I have to drive  over a half hour to Stafford and 40 min plus to Cosners Corner with my list. Admittedly, I can be a bit grumpy when they are out of stock. Or two days after I get home my produce is moldy( that was Stafford.) Produce at Cosners corner seems fresher and colder.

The employees are very kind and very helpful at both Publix's when I visit.

However when COVID started Pub;ix discontinued RAIN CHECKS which I kind of understood then.

But they have not brought them back yet. WHY????

I feel they are not appreciating the loyalty of their customers during this difficult time. Profits appears more important then loyalty and in FL they have a captive market.

Today I drove to Stafford and one employee said "come back on Tuesday" for the sale item they didnt have in stock.   I was livid, I exclaimed "come back Tuesday????
Not when I have to drive a half hour on back country roads to get to this store!".

A rain check would have let me come back the next time I was in the area. I am a senior 74 YO and not use to curvy hilly roads. But I love Publix and am willing to make the effort.

How come they are not willing to make the effort to accommodate us?

Other stores give Rain Checks.

I thought Publix was suppose to be a Christian organization.
It appears greed has replaced generosity and caring about the customer.

Well I am not sure anyone else agrees with me but I appreciate you listening to my rant!

Walmart (Shopping for Ezekial Muffins)

I like Walmart for shelf goods but I hesitate on some perishables. I guess I don't quite trust that the products get put away in a timely manner.

However I am visiting my family in VA and finding it hard to get my Ezekiel muffins. I decided, since it was frozen bread I could get it from Walmart.
I located it in the case and this is a picture of what I found!

There were four more on the shelf, three with pieces of ice inside the package. One at the back seemed normal and I bought that one. I began to wonder what is happening. Why wouldn't an employee see it, how did this happen. All kinds of scenarios played through my mind.

I had also looked for cream cheese my low fat Philadelphia one, none to be found. The kind young man who worked there said November 7 it should be back in stock.

IT SCARY WHAT SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING IN THE STORES.

Is it lack of employees? A snowball effect? literally :-))

I was talking with another woman shopper in Walmart, wondering if she was thinking the same as me. She said as long as people don't panic we will be okay! I couldn't agree more. I think people get scared and then they get greedy and start hoarding food or other products which creates more hoarding type buying.

If we can all have respect for each other I think we can get through any situation that comes along.

But it requires each of us to be fair and kind to one another.  I know, easy to say, its tough when we are afraid we will be hungry or cant get our favorite foods.

I wonder, if I knew I couldn't get my muffins, would I have bought the one with the ice on it?

We need to ask ourselves the tough questions?

If our answers don't consider another persons needs then maybe we want to rethink our thinking?

Louise Hay always said
"when you take from life,  life will take from you; and when you give to life, life will give to you."

I try to practice that in my life each day. Some days I do good and sometimes the self centered child in me takes over and I am not  kind and courteous to other souls on this tough road.

But each day is a new opportunity to consider another person. That's the best I can do each day.

What will you do today that will make a difference in someones life?

Share it on the blog!
Have a kindhearted day!
